Play scripts
How play scripts are written. Writing our own scripts to go alongside our own animations.

Our Spelling this term will be:  To investigate and learn to spell words with common letter strings:  ight, igh, ough, ear.

Mathematical Understanding

This term we will  focus on:

Number

• Place value, including decimal numbers, tenths and hundredths, in the context of money and measures.

• Multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100 (mentally).

• The introduction of column addition to add larger numbers and reinforce the method of grid multiplication to multiply 2-digits by 1-digit 


Data Handling

 • Collecting, organising, presenting, analysing and interpreting data in tables, tally charts, pictograms and bar charts.


 Shape and Space and Measures

Drawing and classifying polygons (including lines of symmetry) and visualising 3D objects from 2D drawings.

History of animation - flip books, cartoons, first animations.

• Using animation programmes to make simple on-screen animations.

• Animate a flip book and food, using SAM animation.

• Plan and create a story board for our own short film animations.

• Design and create setting scenery, props and characters.

• Add audio and special effects and edit our films.

  

Understanding Physical Development, Health and Well Being

Net and Wall Games, such as mini tennis, badminton and table tennis.  Learning the correct way to hold a racket and to send a ball accurately.

PE will take place on Mondays and Tuesdays.   Please make sure your child has a PE kit in school at all times,  (PE days may change) including plimsolls for indoors and trainers for outdoor lessons.  A warm jumper and tracksuit bottoms are also necessary during the colder months.

PHSE

This term’s theme is ‘New Beginnings’.
