FS Update 28.04.17

Reception Class Weekly update ~ 28th April 2017

Welcome back to a busy but exciting summer term. This term our topic is ‘Can you change it?’ We will be exploring different ways of changing things, experimenting with floating and sinking, ice and water and using paint to mix different colours. If you have any interesting toys or games at home that can be changed then we would love to see them. They could be things that can be changed by moving them, things like a slinky, Rubik's cube or anything else that can be changed by playing with it.

Notes
Please make sure you have received a copy of our plan for this term. These were sent home in book bags. If you can help with any of our topics then please let me know. It is always great to have parents and relatives come in and talk to the children.

New WOW leaves have been sent home in your child’s book bag.

Next week we will be learning about ‘Rumble in the Jungle’

Our sharing assembly is on Friday 5th May at 2.30pm.

Class photos will be taken on Friday 5th May.

Homework-Can I just remind you that homework needs to be returned on a Thursday. Thank you to everyone who returned it this week. As we move into the summer term, it is great to get into the routine of completing homework each week as this prepares the children for year 1.

Outside area
-Please remember that children are not allowed to play in the Foundation Stage garden before or after school. This includes younger children who do not attend the school.

Our value- This term we are encouraging the children to be independent as this is our whole school value for the term. Please encourage your child to carry out the morning routine independently and to be responsible for their things. We are encouraging the children to look after their own things and try not to lose them as well as looking after resources in the classroom and around school.

Naming clothes
- We have had lots of things go missing and it makes it hard to return things when they are not named. Please could you make sure that all of your child’s belongings are clearly named.

Forest school-Please make sure your child has a pair of wellies in school at all times. Forest school will happen every Wednesday and the children will take it in turns to go.

Multi sports-Mr Guy will be starting his multi sports club for foundation stage children on Monday 8th May. This will run every Monday after school. Please see the letter previously sent home for more information.

Thank you for your continued support.
